Lockheed Martin has introduced Astris AI, a newly formed subsidiary designed to provide secure, scalable, and resilient artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for U.S. defense industries and commercial sectors with rigorous assurance needs.

Lockheed Martin has invested heavily in advanced machine learning operations (MLOps) and generative AI platforms tailored for users requiring high levels of compliance and security. With Astris AI, these tools are now accessible to external organizations, helping them overcome the challenges of developing and deploying reliable AI systems.

Astris AI's platforms leverage Lockheed Martin's proven AI Factory tools and an open-architecture approach. These solutions offer organizations cost-efficient, modular AI capabilities to address the ever-changing technological landscape.

"I'm proud to see the Lockheed Martin AI Center (LAIC) contributing to Astris AI's goal of developing secure and scalable AI solutions," said Greg Forrest, director of AI Foundations. "Lockheed Martin has made significant strides in AI/ML, and we're excited to apply these advancements to support our customers and help strengthen the defense industrial base."

Astris AI provides full-scale consultative engineering services, including implementation, AI strategy, model development, and training. By drawing from Lockheed Martin's experienced AI engineers, Astris AI enables organizations to deploy and sustain AI tools and solutions despite global AI workforce shortages.

The Astris AI team is led by seasoned experts, including Chief Revenue Officer Donna O'Donnell. O'Donnell, a former global vice president at Xerox specializing in AI and automation solutions, commented on the new venture: "Astris AI is perfectly positioned to deliver AI/MLOps solutions across industries. By combining Lockheed Martin's expertise with Astris AI's agile approach, we're enabling organizations to navigate the complexities of the rapidly evolving technology landscape with high assurance AI solutions that deliver secure and reliable interactions, compliance and responsible decision-making."

Astris AI's launch highlights Lockheed Martin's continued leadership in 21st Century Security, reinforcing its role in strengthening national security and integrating innovative technologies to meet evolving threats.
