The contract award from the U.S. Air Force was announced Tuesday by the Department of Defense and enables Lockheed Martin to provide software maintenance and updates, along with other services, to support of the C-5M Galaxy system.
The contract is valued at more than $31.3 million under the terms of an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract. The C-5M Galaxy is a large military transport aircraft manufactured by Lockheed Martin.
Work on the contract will occur in Marietta, Ga., and is expected to be complete in May 2024.
More than $4.9 million will be obligated to Lockheed Martin at the time of award from fiscal year 2017 through 2023 transportation working capital funds, the Pentagon said.
